About FirstNet Adviser

What is FirstNet Adviser?

FirstNet Adviser is Colonial First State’s adviser website. It has a wide range of transactional functionality, client and business reporting as well as other tools and services to help you grow your business and save time.

We are continually working to expand the services available on FirstNet Adviser.

How do I navigate within FirstNet Adviser?

There are two ways you can navigate within the site:

  1. Navigation menus - this is the most commonly used navigation method. Select any options from the menus on the left, top and right (in some cases) of the page. The top navigation menu is available at all times. The left navigation menu alters depending which section of the top navigation you are currently visiting.
  2. Site map - this is useful if you aren't quite sure where to find a section or if you are just browsing around FirstNet Adviser.

How do I get back to the previous page?

If you want to move back to a previous page and there is no Back button available on the screen, you can select any options on the top and left navigation menus.

What is the Site map?

A site map acts like an index in a book for FirstNet Adviser. It provides an overview of the site and shows where you can locate a particular section or subsection. Clicking on any of the headings will automatically take you to that section of the site. To open the site map, select Site map from the top navigation menu.

How do I change my details?

To obtain instructions and forms to change your details select FirstNet administration from the top navigation menu and select Change adviser details from the left navigation menu.

What is an Online Identity Number?

When an investor registers for our online services (FirstNet Investor or FirstLink) we provide them with an 8-digit Online Identity Number (OIN) and a Personal Identification Number (PIN). Your clients are mailed their PIN within 3 working days of receiving their OIN.

Every portfolio has a different OIN. It is a unique number that you can use to identify clients quickly. It’s especially useful if you have clients with more than one portfolio. For your convenience we have listed all your clients' OIN next to their name on the client list.

What is a Personal Identification Number (PIN)?

A PIN (or Personal Identification Number) is a 6-8 digit number issued to every person that uses FirstNet Adviser. It can only consist of numbers ie. 333033.

If there are 4 people in your office, you’ll each have a different PIN. Your PIN should be kept confidential as it is the password you’ll use to login to FirstNet Adviser with your OIN.

What are Dealer Group ID and Adviser ID numbers?

The Dealer Group ID and the Adviser ID are the numbers we use to identify you in FirstNet Adviser:

  • Dealer Group ID - is the number that identifies your group or network (you will use a Dealer Group ID even if you are not a member of a group or network).
  • Adviser ID - is the number that identifies you individually.
