What does view model settings mean?

View model settings allows you to: View the model portfolio settings, which includes investment allocation, asset allocation tolerance and the model portfolio creation date.

Edit the model portfolio name and asset allocation tolerance.

View any changes to the baseline asset allocation since the model portfolio was created.

How do I create a model portfolio?

To create a model portfolio:

  1. Go to the Tools section
  2. Select Create model portfolio from the left hand navigation.
  3. Click 'Create model portfolio'.
  4. Enter a model portfolio name.
  5. Select the product type from the drop down list.
  6. Click 'Select options' from the investment allocation section then choose the options from the fund selector and enter your percentage allocation.
  7. You can then set asset allocation tolerance.
  8. Click on 'View asset and manager allocation'.
  9. The asset and manager allocation graphs will display and click 'Save'.

How can I re-use a model portfolio for another product?

You can copy the model portfolio settings from one product type to another.

For example, you have a growth model portfolio for FirstChoice Personal Superannuation and you would like the same model portfolio settings (ie. investment allocations and asset allocation tolerance) for FirstChoice Employer Superannuation.

To do this:

  1. Go to the Tools section, select Create model portfolio from the left hand navigation.
  2. Click 'Create model portfolio'.
  3. Select the product type FirstChoice Employer Superannuation from the 'Select product type' drop down list.
  4. Click the arrow next to 'Copy existing model settings' and all existing model portfolios will be displayed.
  5. Select growth – FirstChoice Personal Superannuation from the list and the investment allocation and asset allocation tolerance details for this model portfolio will be displayed.
  6. Make any necessary amendments and click 'Save'.

How do I save my model portfolio?

You cannot save a model portfolio until you have viewed the asset allocation graphs.

Once you have entered your model portfolio details click on 'View asset and manager allocation' and the Save button will become available.

What is asset allocation tolerance?

The tolerance is measured against the percentage of the options selected and the benchmark asset allocation for the model portfolio.

The alignment status of the account is determined by the difference between the account asset allocation and the allocation for the model portfolio based on the percentage tolerance set by you.

Which options can I select for the model portfolio?

You can only select open options for the model portfolio.
