* The CFS risk measure for these High Growth options is Very High. While the gearing can magnify gains, it will always magnify losses. Minimum suggested timeframe to hold investments is at least 7 years. Investment returns and capital repayment are not guaranteed. Returns are for FirstChoice Wholesale Investments portfolios as at 31 October 2024, calculated on a cumulative year-on-year basis which are then annualised. Returns are after ongoing fees and expenses and net of superannuation earnings taxes. Past performance is not indicative of future performance. What is High Growth and is it right for you?

CFS High Growth is a geared investment fund which may deliver higher returns than a conventional fund. Put simply, ‘gearing’ means borrowing money to invest.

Geared investments are considered very high risk, because you’ll still have to repay the loan even if the value of your investments fall. So just as gearing magnifies positive investment returns, it will also magnify negative returns.

As a high-risk investment strategy, High Growth is not for everyone. But it can add value when investment returns are greater than borrowing costs.

High Growth is best suited for investors with a long investment timeframe, because this will give the time to ride out short term volatility.

Different investment strategies and timeframes have different levels of risk. As a general rule, the bigger the potential investment return, the higher the investment risk.

Understanding your tolerance for risk can help you feel more comfortable making investment decisions.
